Course duration: 24 hours (4 days).

This WorkCover designed and accredited course thoroughly equips your employees to perform their duties as your OH&S Committee representatives. A WorkCover accredited certificate is issued upon successful completion of the
course.

Matrix Safety Systems prefers to conduct this course onsite, providing you with greater flexibility and staff availability.

This course is usually conducted 2 days a week over a 2 week period, but it can
also be presented in tailored sessions to better suit your business continuity / staffing needs.

The following topics are covered:

Session One -- Workplace Health and Safety:

• Outlines course objectives;
• Explains the requirements for effective management of health and safety; and
• Explains the importance of OH&S consultation.

Session Two -- The Role of OHS Consultation in the Workplace:

• Details legal obligations for OH&S consultation; and
• Describes mechanisms including OH&S Committees and Representatives.

Session Three -- Effective OHS Consultation in the Workplace:

• Outlines effective communication techniques; and
• Explains why these are essential in the consultation process.

Session Four -- Systematic Management of Health and Safety:

• Details the requirements for effective OH&S management systems; and
• System development, implementation, audit and review.

Session Five -- Action Learning Session (full day within the workplace):

• Practical application of OH&S and Risk Management recording, evaluation, and rectification.

Session Six -- Continuous Improvement of OH&S Systems:

• Demonstrates the need for continuous improvement in OH&S through consultation; and
• Provides the means for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of this process.

Session Seven -- Summary and conclusion.
